LIGHT Statement of Faith
We believe:
The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative and inerrant Word of God and constitutes His completed revelation of God’s plan for man.
There is one God who manifests Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, but without sin.
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, preformed miracles, suffered a vicarious and atoning death, was bodily resurrected, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and will return personally in power and glory.
All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character by nature and act, and are therefore under His wrath and just condemnation.
Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. We are saved by repenting of our sinful ways and trusting in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, believing on Him and making Him our Lord and Savior. We are saved by trusting in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone, not by any personal work. The full and complete atonement for our sins was accomplished when Jesus Christ died on the cross.
The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers, enabling and empowering us to live a godly life and creating fellowship between us.
The saved and the unsaved will both be resurrected, the believer to eternal glorious life in the presence of God and the unbeliever to eternal torment and separation from God.
Clarifications of Our Statement of Faith
The first paragraph reads “ The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative and inerrant Word of God and constitutes His completed revelation of God’s plan for man.” Our meaning is that God’s word has been not only inspired but preserved to this day and is still the inspired Word of God and profitable for “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness : that the man of God may be perfect…” as it says in II Tim. 3:16. We believe that it is the only inspired word of God and it is a closed canon-meaning no other books have been or will be added to is such as the New World translation used by Jehovah Witnesses or the Book of Mormon or any other extra-biblical “inspired” texts that promote a particular religion.

[ORDER OF PROTOCOL]
Regarding Behavior at any LIGHT function:
If you see a child doing something wrong and the parent isn’t nearby, please get involved and appropriately intervene. Then…
Allow the parent to know what her child did and how/why you intervened. This is an important part of keeping a parent informed even if the situation was resolved.
If the parent is unresponsive or offended by your information/suggestions, or allows the same addressed behavior to reoccur, then please contact the leader of the event where the offense occurred.
If the problem is still unresolved after the above steps are taken, please contact the LIGHT coordinator.
